Thank you to Tiffany from Easie Peasie Co. for this easy at home, non-toxic, it's OK if they eat it finger-paint recipe. You can find her original post at the link below. I followed her recipe but cut it in half.

1 cup water
1 & 1/2 tbs sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 c corn starch
Put everything in a sauce pan. Heat and stir frequently until it thickens into finger paint consistency.
I didn't have any baby-food jars but they are perfect for storing the paint. I kept the majority in a small class jar uncolored and will use it again soon. I will add food coloring when we paint again.

The recipe was easy to follow and I was able to make it quickly as baby girl ate her morning snack in her high chair. She watched the whole production. My purple came out a bit dark. I only used a drop of food coloring in each of the disposable salad dressing containers. It was plenty. Note to self if you are going to be getting engaged, doing hand modeling, or going to the prom in the next day skip this activity. Depending on your enthusiasm you may have some finger discoloring.
Great smocks bought at IKEA. I removed her shirt and put the smock on for full coverage.
Since this was a sensory exploration activity rather than a product-based art project I wasn't very worried about the painting surface. I went for less mess. Taped the thick white paper to her removable highchair tray. Worked out great for us. This paint was super easy clean-up. Bonus!
Everyone got in on the action. Even the teenager!
Fantastic fun morning activity. Thanks again to my best friend Pinterest and Tiffany @ easiepeasie.blogpost.com. Now time to go paint the town toddler style!
