Her post, in a nut shell, calls upon us all to tell the real dish in life. Stop telling just the perfect Instagram picture story. So here it is. Today's #toddlerlife #keepingitreal #epicfail
AKA toddler pinterest fail
Mess free toddler art. What you need:
scissors
construction paper in various shapes
clear contact paper
and tape (not pictured)
So far so good right? I mean you are buying this, right? Looks like fun...

Adhere the contact paper to a flat surface with the sticky side facing up. Make sure your toddler can easily reach. We used the floor. Remove the backing so the sticky side is available. Model for your toddler how to place a few pieces of the paper on the sticky side. Give her a turn. You are on your way!
I COULD have stopped here and posted a finished project. Super cute and looks easy, right? YEAH RIGHT. Here's how it really went....

Note foot on sticky paper. Yes, not unlike fly paper. She got ONE feel and that was it ----- mission get the sticky paper in my hands!
See her in action? Next rip from floor because mommy's tape sucked. (if we do it again I will try painters tape to frame the whole piece of contact paper)
Flash forward ---- shaking and crunching and mommy losing her mind trying to save the super cute Pinterest project.
Note the paper shapes strewn everywhere. The contact paper lays in a crumpled state stuck to her feet.
Then I decided to just let go...see where it went

After crumpling the sticky paper she took the contact paper backing and played with it for quiet a while. Exploring the texture. Crumpling it. Spinning with it. Here she is putting it inside a little green wooden wagon she has. She was enjoying it.
She continued to explore. Here she is playing with a piece of red construction paper putting it on and off of the paper plate. This kind of imaginative play continued for a while and in the end we picked up the pieces together making it into a mommy directed taking turns game.
Why do we do these activities? Why do I spend my evening looks for toddler activities? Not for my blog. I do it to spend time with her and to give her a meaningful experience. Honestly, to help us both pass the day. This Pinterest fail worked out great! So we don't have an end product but #Letsberealtogether....does it matter?
